Visiting Albury Vineyard

When is Albury Vineyard open to visitors?

January and February: Closed
March: Saturdays 11am–4pm
April to September: Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays 11am–5pm
October to December: Saturdays and Sundays 11am–4pm

On some days, entry to the vineyard is ticketed for special events. We will also be closed on some days during the autumn for harvest, so please always check our Visit Us page for the most up-to-date information before visiting.

Can I visit Albury Vineyard during the week?

The vineyard is normally closed to the public on weekdays, except for pre-booked private events. If you have placed an order and would like to collect it during the week, please contact us and we will do our best to arrange this for you.

Is Albury Vineyard dog friendly?

Yes. Well-behaved dogs on leads are very welcome at the vineyard. We even have a dog menu!

Can I bring children to Albury Vineyard?

Yes, children are very welcome to visit the vineyard. The exception is our guided vineyard tours and wine & cheese experiences, which are for over 18s only.

Do I need to book a table at Albury Vineyard?

Please email us if you would like to reserve a table. Walk-ins are also very welcome.

Can I eat at Albury Vineyard?

We serve cheese boards, charcuterie, bread, nuts and olives alongside our wines, local beer and soft drinks in the tasting room.

 

 

Tours, Tastings & Harvest Experiences

What wine tasting experiences are available at Albury Vineyard?

Our experiences include guided vineyard tours and tastings, wine & cheese tastings and private tastings. These must be booked in advance. For a more informal experience, you can order a wine flight from our tasting room bar menu and taste at your own pace using our tasting notes, with our team on hand to help.

Do I need to book a wine tasting?

All guided tastings, including vineyard tours, wine & cheese tastings and private tastings, need to be pre-booked. Wine flights can be ordered from the bar during your visit without booking a guided tasting.

Can I buy a vineyard experience as a gift?

Yes. Gift vouchers are available for our Tour & Tasting and Wine & Cheese Tasting experiences.

How long do the vineyard tours and tastings last?

Our Tour & Tasting experience lasts approximately 1.5–2 hours, while our Wine & Cheese Tasting lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Please allow some extra time if you would also like to enjoy our self-guided vineyard tour.

What should I wear for a vineyard tour?

Our Vineyard Tour & Tasting experience takes place outside and covers uneven ground, so sensible footwear and waterproof clothing are recommended.

What time should I arrive for my vineyard experience?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your experience is due to start. We will send you all the information you need approximately one week before your visit.

Will my vineyard tour go ahead if it rains?

Our vineyard tours usually run whatever the weather, so please dress appropriately. We have spare umbrellas if needed.

If conditions are unsafe, such as heavy persistent rain or thunderstorms, we may need to cancel. If this happens, we will contact booked guests by email.

Can I walk around Albury Vineyard without booking a tour?

Yes. At weekends you are welcome to follow our self-guided vineyard tour, and from April to September you can also enjoy our Wildlife Walk. The vineyard is not open to the public on weekdays.

What is the Wildlife Walk at Albury Vineyard?

Our Wildlife Walk is a self-guided trail around the vineyard where visitors can discover some of the habitats and wildlife that make Albury their home.

Around the estate you'll find features including bat and barn owl boxes, bug hotels, beehives, butterfly scrapes, an insect highway, wildflower meadows, compost pits and our pond. Children can pick up a spotter guide to use along the way.

The self-guided Wildlife Walk is free to enjoy, although donations to Surrey Wildlife Trust are very welcome.

Can I help with the grape harvest at Albury Vineyard?

Yes. We welcome volunteers to help with our annual grape harvest. Harvest days are very popular and places tend to fill quickly, so advance registration is recommended.

Do you hold special events at Albury Vineyard?

Yes. Throughout the year we host a variety of special events and experiences, which can include beekeeping, live music, Sip & Paint, supper clubs and Friday Fizz. Please check our latest events for current dates and availability.

 

 

Getting to Albury Vineyard

Is there parking at Albury Vineyard?

Yes. Parking is available in our private vineyard car park and in the Silent Pool car park.

Vineyard customers do not need to pay to park, but you must enter your vehicle registration into the terminal provided in the tasting room to avoid receiving a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

Is disabled parking available?

Yes. A disabled parking space is available immediately by the tasting room entrance.

Is coach parking available?

Yes, coach parking is available, but please notify us in advance so that we can check access before your visit.

Can I leave my car at Albury Vineyard overnight?

Yes, but please check with us first. If you collect your car the following day, you will need to enter your vehicle registration into the terminal again because the parking system resets at midnight.

How can I get to Albury Vineyard by public transport?

If arriving by train, we recommend travelling to Guildford, Dorking or Gomshall and arranging a taxi in advance. Taxis are usually available at Guildford and Dorking stations.

We recommend booking taxis both to and from the vineyard in advance to help ensure you arrive and depart on time.

Accessibility

Is Albury Vineyard accessible?

Our tasting room is accessible. At present, however, the self-guided vineyard tour is not suitable unless you are stable on your feet.

 

 

Private Experiences & Venue Hire

Can I book a private wine tasting or vineyard experience?

Yes. We offer private bookings during the week and sometimes at weekends.

We can also arrange joint experience days with local businesses, including activities such as wreath making, willow weaving, beekeeping, fused glass and Sip & Paint.

Can I hire Albury Vineyard for a private event?

Yes. Evening venue hire is usually available from 7pm until 11pm. Please contact us for further information and availability.

Can I hold a wedding at Albury Vineyard?

We are not licensed to host weddings, but we can host small post-wedding celebrations during the week.
