English Wine Week is here – the perfect excuse (if one were needed!) to pop a cork and raise a glass to the brilliant wines produced on our doorstep. To celebrate, we asked the Albury team to share their personal picks from our range – and it’s safe to say we’ve got all tastes covered…
Our Estate Manager Alex is going all in on the Prestige Cuvée – and for good reason. With extended lees ageing, this is our most refined and complex sparkling wine, perfect for those who enjoy richness and structure. “It’s a wine I’m proud of,” Alex says. “It shows just how elegant English wine can be.”
Vineyard Owner Nick is keeping it classic with, well… Classic Cuvée. It’s our signature sparkling wine, perfectly balanced and great for any occasion. “I love it for its versatility,” Nick tells us. “It’s the wine I’ll pour for guests who are trying English fizz for the first time.”
Declan, our Vineyard Technician is reaching for the Blanc de Blancs – made from a quintessentially English blend of Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc, full of crisp citrus and apple character. “It’s so refreshing,” he says. “Perfect for a warm afternoon or with something light like seafood.”
General Manager Lucy’s choice is the Silent Pool Rosé, a pale, dry still rosé made from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It’s a summer staple that always sells out fast. This year, Lucy’s also serving it up as a Rosé Spritz – mixed with elderflower, soda, ice and a sprig of mint for a lighter take on rosé season.
Events Manager Becky is all about the Sparkling Rosé, which just picked up a Silver medal at the 2025 IEWA. With wild strawberry notes and a fine, elegant mousse, it’s a beautifully balanced wine that’s equally at home in a flute or a picnic basket. “It’s always been a favourite of mine – and now it’s officially award-winning too!”
If you fancy trying the team’s favourites for yourself, our English Wine Week Mixed Case includes all six bottles – available until 29th June only. Whether you’re toasting with bubbles or sipping something still, there’s never been a better time to celebrate English wine.
